The so called dog days of summer are not quite upon us. When those hot, humid, sunny, and long days do arrive in full force, we plan to invade Philadelphia’s Fountains. They will enjoy wading and splashing. They will enjoy people watching. Playing with kids is also a highlight.
We have commented before that Sadie, of Sadie and Lily, is a top notch swimmer. But, she does not always have great judgment. Last December on a visit to Maryland’s Eastern Shore, we watched in horror as Sadie dove into a swimming pool that was covered by a tarp. We ran as fast as we could to scoop her out before she was trapped. She survived to dive and swim another day. Fountains are great because no tarp-trapping of dare devil mini-poodles can occur.
Lily, of Sadie and Lily, does not make those sorts of mistakes. She is more cautious. She observes before she moves. Then she moves with confidence and purpose. She guards us at all times, little Sadie included. But she is also the street friends greeter. It’s great to have a long-walks ambassador in the city.
